“5G时代”就要来了

在博鳌亚洲论坛2016年年会“与未来的对话”分论坛上，来自通信领域的多名业界代表已经开始“剧透”5G时代的生活。

Zhang Feng, chief engineer of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, told a press conference on Thursday that China has started research and development in fifth generation mobile networks, and it plans to build an open R&D platform for 5G technology this year, with the technology to be fully commercialized by 2020. The age of 5G communication is coming.

中国工业和信息化部总工程师张峰24日在记者会上称，中国已经开始研究和开发第五代移动网络，计划今年建立一个开放的5G技术研发平台，并在2020年将5G技术完全商业化。5G时代就要来了。

目前，中国运营商和厂商凭借创新实力，已经在5G领域获得全球业界的高度认可。5G时代（the age of 5G communication）即将来临。5G（5th generation mobile networks），即第五代移动通信技术。

业内专家普遍认为，5G是新一代移动通信技术的主要发展方向。在用户体验方面，网络堵塞（network congestion）将成为过去时，网络速度也不再是发展瓶颈（development bottleneck），5G的数据传输速度（data transmission speeds）预计将比4G（4th generation mobile networks）快100倍。同时，在技术应用方面，5G具有更低的时延（time delay）、更大的吞吐量（throughput），以及更高的可靠性。

对于5G时代的生活，三星电子中国产品战略及研发总裁王彤表示，2020年之后，5G将开启万物互联（Internet of Everything，IoE）的社会。高通总裁德里克•阿伯力近日在中国发展高层论坛（China Development Forum）上表示，未来三到五年，5G将成为一项革命性的技术（5G will be a revolutionary technology），将影响我们生活的方方面面（affect every aspect of our lives）。
