BEIJING, June 16 -- China and Indonesia should ensure smooth progress in building the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed railway and other key projects, Chinese Vice Premier Zhang Gaoli said Friday.
Zhang's comment came during a meeting with Indonesia's Presidential Envoy and Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan.
Zhang called on both sides to implement the consensus of the two heads of state, focus on cooperation as part of the Belt and Road Initiative and further synergize the two countries' development strategies.
"Both countries should explore more partnership opportunities in infrastructure development and industrial production capacity," Zhang said.
Luhut said Indonesia is ready to participate in the Belt and Road Initiative and will integrate its development strategy and expand trade, investment and infrastructure cooperation with China.
