体坛英语资讯：China U-16 loses to Uzbekistan 0-1 in Silk Road Cup tournament

WEINAN, China, July 15 -- The lone goal by Jasurbek Jaloliddinov helped Uzbekistan U-16 football team to beat China 1-0 in the 2017 Silk Road Cup CFA international youth football tournament here on Saturday.

Midfielder Jaloliddinov scored the opener as he volleyed the ball into the far corner of the net outside the penalty area in the 11th minute. Against the fierce attacking of the visitors, China could only stop them by fouls. In the 34th minute, the hosts' Shi Yan got the ball at the penalty spot but the kick missed the goal.

At the goalless second half, enjoying the cheers of nearly 10,000 attendants, the hosts enhanced the attack from two flanks and made several chances, however none of them was converted to an equalizer.

"As same as the pervious match with Japan, we need to stay focus at the beginning of the game. I don't think this is the true level of our players that too many errors were made by them," said Liu Junwei, the head coach of China U-16 team.

In the other match on Saturday, Japan U-16 team won over Czech Republic team 3-0.

This is the third time that Weinan of Shaanxi Province held the round-robin tournament which features the U-16 national football teams of China, Japan, Uzbekistan and Czech Republic.
