MADRID, Jan. 6 -- It's fair to say that Diego Costa will make the headlines in Spain on Sunday following his return to Liga Santander action with Atletico Madrid on Saturday afternoon.

The Brazilian-born Spain international scored Atletico's second goal of a routine 2-0 win at home to Getafe, and was then send off for celebrating with the crowd, for two yellow cards after previously having been booked for using his elbow on a Getafe defender.

Angel Correa had put Atletico ahead in the 19th minute of the game which was played under constant rain in the Wanda Metropolitan Stadium, but the win came at the cost of Costa, Gabi Fernandez and Stefan Savic all missing next week's trip to Eibar through suspension.

Valencia came back from a goal down to defeat Girona 2-1 with a Jonas Ramalho own goal and a Dani Parejo penalty overturning an early header by former Valancia youngster Portu.

Paco Jemez's league debut as Las Palmas coach ended in a painful home defeat to Eibar.

Things looked to be going to plan for the bottom of the table side after Jonathan Viera put them ahead from the penalty spot in the 32nd minute, but two goals in four minutes in the second half from debutant Fabian Orellana and Sergi Enrich gave Eibar their sixth win in seven games.

Saturday ended with a Betis winning a crazy Seville derby 5-3 away to local rivals Sevilla.

New Sevilla boss Vincenzo Montella had a rude awakening to the Spanish game as Fabian put Betis ahead in the first minute. Wissam Ben Yedder equalized 10 minutes later, only for Zou Feddal to again put Betis in front.

Simon Kjaer equalized again before the break, but two second half goals from Risa Durmisi and Sergio Leon put Betis 4-2 ahead, before Clement Lenglet gave Sevilla hope with 23 minutes remaining.

Sevilla threw everything at Betis, but were caught on the break and Cristian Tello scored Betis' fifth with the last kick of the game.
