美国玫瑰公主出炉 华裔女孩邵霞入选

The seven princesses who make up the 2017 Rose Parade Royal Court were announced Monday morning in front of hundreds at the Tournament House.

本周一早晨，将参加2017帕萨迪纳市玫瑰花车大游行的7名公主名单揭晓。

The seven princesses are: Bergen Onufer, Mayfield Senior School;Madison Triplett, John Marshall Fundamental High School; Simona Shao, Westridge School; Gabrielle Current, Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy; Mackenzie Byers, Pasadena City College; Veronica Mejia, Pasadena City College; and Emily Stoker, Temple City High School.

这7名公主分别为：来自梅菲尔德高中的贝尔根；来自约翰马歇尔根本高中的麦迪逊；来自西岗中学的邵霞；来自福临特里奇圣心学院的加布里埃尔；来自帕萨迪纳城市学院的拜尔斯；来自帕萨迪纳城市学院的维罗尼卡；来自天普市高中的艾米丽。

Shao, 17, is president of the Westridge Glee Club, a member of the Westridge Madrigals and has recorded a demo track produced for Rihanna. The Arcadia resident completed an internship at the “Hurun Report” in Shanghai and has volunteered at Hubei International High School in China.

17岁的邵霞是西岗中学合唱团的团长，也是韦斯特里奇牧歌演唱者中的一员，她还曾为歌星蕾哈娜录制过音乐小样。邵霞现居住在阿卡迪亚州，曾在上海“胡润报告”实习过，也曾在湖北国际高中做过志愿者。

The seven were chosen from a pool of 31 finalists. Finalists were chosen from about 700 contestants who tried out over the past month. The Rose Queen will be announced on Oct. 21.

这7名玫瑰公主出自最后的31名选手，而这31名选手也是从过去一个月中的700名参赛者中选出的。最终的玫瑰皇后将花落谁家，要等到10月21日才会揭晓。

“Let there be no mistake about the depth of beauty in these incredible 31 young women,” Tournament of Roses President Richard Chinen said before the announcement. “The intelligence, the talent, the passion are all easily discovered once you speak with any one of them.”

在公布结果之前，该比赛的主席理查德说：“但愿我们没有低估这31名年轻姑娘每个人的美。如果你与她们交谈，会发现她们个个聪慧过人、个个充满激情与活力。”

The Royal Court will make as many as 100 media and community appearances, and reign over the 126th Rose Parade presented by Honda, themed “Inspiring Stories.” They also will attend the College Football Playoff Semifinal in the Rose Bowl Game, presented by Northwestern Mutual, on January 1, 2017.

比赛主办方还将举办多达100场的相关活动，包括由丰田承办的第126届主题为“励志故事”的玫瑰花车大游行活动。同时，这7名玫瑰公主还会亮相2017年元旦进行的由西北相互承办的玫瑰碗大学橄榄球比赛。

“I hope that I can be a really good role model to a lot of girls that are watching the Rose Parade like I did when I was really little,” Shao said.

“我希望我能真正成为观看玫瑰游行的女孩们的榜样，就像我小时候看这个比赛，把比赛的选手当做榜样一样。”邵霞说。
