查尔斯：希望新的皇室宝贝是个小公主

据《镜报》9月9日报道，查尔斯王储表示他希望即将到来的皇家宝宝是个小公主。

威尔士亲王告诉祝福的人们：“这太棒了，我很高兴我又可以当一次爷爷了。”

“我非常期待宝宝的诞生——但我希望这次会是个女孩儿。”

在戴安娜王妃怀着第二个孩子哈里王子时，他也曾公开表示过他想要一个公主。安德鲁•莫顿在他1992年出版的书《戴安娜：真实的故事》中也提及过：“查尔斯总想要一个女儿……我早已知晓哈里是个男孩，但我没有告诉他。”

在凯特首次怀孕时，她曾透露威廉想要一个女儿，她还告诉29岁的门卫李•惠勒：“我想要一个男孩，但威廉想要一个女孩。事情总是这样。”

Charles, 65, told of his delight that son William and his wife Kate, both 32, are expecting a second child, who will be fourth in line to the throne.

The Prince of Wales told well-wishers: “It’s wonderful. I’m happy I’m going to be a grandfather again.

“I’m looking forward to it – but I hope it will be a girl this time.”

Kate was still being treated for her severe morning sickness at home in Kensington Palace today, where William was at her side.

She is in the very early stages of pregnancy and Charles had not been expected to comment on it today– but the proud grandad could not resist during a visit to a Prince’s Trust project in Bermondsey, South London.

He told Corey Johnson, 36, he hopes for the arrival of a little princess – and laughed when Mr Johnson told him: “That’s a bit biased!” Charles said: “We are very happy. It’s splendid, very exciting.”

He had reportedly expressed the same hope for a girl when Princess Diana was pregnant with second son Harry.

In his 1992 book Diana: Her True Story, author Andrew Morton claimed Diana said: “Charles always wanted a girl... I knew Harry was a boy and I didn’t tell him.”

During her first pregnancy Kate also let slip that William wanted a daughter, telling Guardsman Lee Wheeler, 29: “I’d like to have a boy and William would like a girl. That’s always the way.”

The Duchess of Cambridge cancelled a public engagement on Monday due to her condition, hyperemesis gravidarum, which she also suffered while pregnant with 13-month-old son George.

William attended the engagement alone then said: “I’m going to go and look after her now.”
