Tom Cruise is suing Life & Style magazine for $50 million over claims that he abandoned his daughter Suri.

汤姆·克鲁斯（Tom Cruise）要起诉《生活时尚》（Life & Style）杂志，就该杂志声称他抛弃女儿苏瑞（Suri）索赔50万美元。

The actor's lawyer confirmed to The Wrap that he officially filed a defamation suit against the magazine on Wednesday (October 24) in Los Angeles.

克鲁斯的律师在接受好莱坞网站《包罗万象》（The Wrap）时证实，他已经正式于周三（10月24日）在洛杉矶就涉嫌诽谤对该杂志提起诉讼。

Life & Style ran an article in July with the headline 'Suri in Tears: Abandoned by Her Dad', in which a sourced claimed Cruise was not involved in his daughter's life following his divorce from Katie Holmes.

《生活时尚》7月发表了一篇文章，题为“哭泣的苏瑞：被爸爸抛弃的孩子”，文中有消息声称，克鲁斯在和凯蒂·霍尔姆斯（Katie Holmes）离婚之后并没有参与到女儿的生活中。

Cruise's attorney Bert Fields insisted that the actor prefers not to sue tabloids, but felt compelled to ensure the truth about his relationship with daughter Suri was clear.

克鲁斯的律师伯特·费尔德（Bert Fields）坚称，克鲁斯本不想起诉八卦小报，但他觉得一定要确保澄清他和女儿苏瑞的关系。

"When these sleaze peddlers try to make money with disgusting lies about his relationship with his child, you bet he's going to sue," Fields claimed.

He also said: "These serial defamers are foreign owned companies with their global headquarters in Hamburg.

"Having to pay a libel judgment may slow them down. Tom will undoubtedly give the money to charity. He always has."

Holmes filed to end her marriage to Cruise in June, with the divorce being finalised under two months later.
