2名美联航飞行员酒驾开飞机，被捕

Two United Airlines pilots have been arrested in Glasgow, Scotland after apparently failing breathalyzer tests before a flight to Newark, New Jersey, Huffington Post reported.

据《赫芬顿邮报》报道，两名美联航飞行员在飞往新泽西州纽瓦克的航班起飞之前明显未能通过酒精测试，在苏格兰格拉斯哥被捕。

Both pilots were scheduled on the flight between Glasgow International Airport and Newark Liberty International Airport on Saturday, Aug. 3, according to NBC News. The pilots were arrested shortly before boarding the flight.

据NBC资讯称这两名飞行员本来都该登上8月3日星期六由格拉斯哥国际机场飞往纽瓦克自由国际机场的航班，他们在登机之前不久被捕。

According to the Huffington Post, aviation law states that staff members found guilty of intoxication, either by alcohol or drugs, maybe punished up to two years in prison or a hefty fine.

据《赫芬顿邮报》称，航空法规定有工作人员被发现兴奋，无论是酒精还是毒品所致，均会被处以最高两年的监禁或巨额罚款。

The legal limit for pilots in Scotland is 9 micrograms of alcohol in 100 milliliters of blood (less than half of the legal limit for drivers), Huffington Post reported.

《赫芬顿邮报》报道在苏格兰飞行员的合法限度为100毫升血液中含有9微克酒精（不到司机合法限度的一半）。

It is unclear what the pilots blood-alcohol content was, and their charges are yet to be defined.

尚不清楚这两名飞行员的血液中酒精含量为多少，对他们的处罚也尚未确定。

Pilots in the past have faced serious consequences for getting drunk on the job. Back in 2018, an Alaska Airlines pilot was sentenced to one year plus one day in federal prison after pleading guilty to flying a plane with more than 80 passengers while under the influence of alcohol.

He was also ordered to pay a $10,000 fine in addition to his sentence.

The flight, United Airlines Flight 162, was immediately canceled after the arrest. Passengers were given hotel and meal vouchers for the inconvenience, according to cnn, as well as re-booked on alternate flights.

“The safety of our customers and crew is always our top priority. We hold all of our employees to the highest standards and have a strict, no-tolerance policy for alcohol,” said United Airlines spokesman Jonathan Guerin. “These pilots were immediately removed from service and we are fully cooperating with local authorities.”
