校园情侣再续前缘：再过六十年 我们来相会

Two residents of a Dyersburg, Tennessee assisted living center plan to marry on Sunday, more than 60 years after they first met.

60年后，来自田纳西州戴尔斯堡的两位老人再度相聚，周日在养老中心组织下喜结连理。

Peggy Schuster and the Rev. Henry Freund were college sweethearts in the early 1950s. Freund said the couple often sat together in class at Rhodes College in Memphis and frequently dated. But they eventually went their separate ways and married other people.

上世纪中期，佩吉·舒斯特和牧师亨利·弗洛因德曾是一对校园恋人。弗洛因德说，在孟菲斯的罗德学院读书时，他俩经常约会，上课也总是坐在一起。可后来他们还是分了手，各自成了家。

'Romance was in the air, but a long road lay ahead of these two young people,' Freund told the Star Gazette . 'It was not the time for them to get together, and so, they went in different directions.'

“空气里都是浪漫的因子，但年轻的我们眼前的路还很长。”弗洛因德告诉《明星宪报》说，“当时我们并不适合在一起，所以各自选择了不同的旅程。”

While attending a church meeting in Memphis in 2001, Freund learned that Schuster had been widowed. Freund, who had lost his wife, wrote his college sweetheart to offer sympathy. A decade later, Schuster gave Freund her email address and the couple, both in their 80s, began corresponding.

但是，2001年在孟菲斯一次教会集会上，弗洛因德获知当年的恋人舒斯特已寡居多年。当时弗洛因德自己也失去了老伴儿。于是他写信给曾经的恋人倾诉伤情。10年后，舒斯特告诉了弗洛因德自己的邮箱地址。就此两位八旬老人又有了联系。

Freund said a spark that had survived for more than 60 years 'burst into flames'. He added: 'Renewal took shape as Cupid's arrow zeroed in on the couple (and they) decided they would spend the remainder of their days as husband and wife.'

弗洛因德说，60年的感情又“燃起了火花”。他还说：“新的感情恰似丘比特之箭，射中我们二人。我们决定结为夫妻，携手共度余年。”

The two octogenarians will pledge their vows under the pavilion at Canterbury Place on Sunday, May 13.
