一个公关人的商旅心得

David Liu, China chairman of public-relations firm Weber Shandwick, once performed a traditional Japanese dance at the company's year-end party that required him to conceal his naked body with a collection of fans.

万博宣伟公关公司(Weber Shandwick)中国区主席刘希平曾在公司年会上表演过一种传统的日本裸体扇子舞。

When he's not entertaining with his dance moves, the Beijing-based 51-year-old is often on the road.

在不跳舞娱乐的时候，现年51岁、常驻北京的刘希平常常是在路上奔波。

He spoke to The Wall Street Journal about wandering Beijing's Summer Palace at night, his favorite bright blue luggage and blogging about travel in China.

他跟《华尔街日报》(The Wall Street Journal)记者说起了夜游颐和园(Summer Palace)、他最喜欢的亮蓝色行李箱，以及他如何在博客上分享在中国的出行经历。以下是经过编辑的采访内容。

How often do you travel?

《华尔街日报》：你多久出行一次？

About once a week in China or internationally. For work, I travel all over China, to Hong Kong and to Singapore.

刘希平：中国国内或国际出行大约每周一次。出差会在中国国内各个城市，还有香港和新加坡。

《华尔街日报》：你加入了什么常旅客计划吗？

I'm a platinum card member of Air China.

刘希平：我是中国国航(Air China)的白金卡会员。

《华尔街日报》：最佳的登机体验？

Recently Air China launched a new program. Whenever I fly business or first class I can use a limo service, an Audi [for transport to the airport]. They'll also meet you upon arrival.

刘希平：最近国航推出了一项新的计划。只要乘坐商务舱或头等舱就可以使用豪华轿车服务，会有奥迪车(Audi)送我去机常抵达时也会有奥迪车接。

Best business lounge?

《华尔街日报》：最佳的商务休息室？

I love the Singapore Airlines lounge in Singapore. There's good food, and you can take showers.

刘希平：我喜欢新加坡航空(Singapore Airlines)在新加坡的休息室。吃的很不错，而且可以淋裕

Food tips for China?

《华尔街日报》：对在中国吃饭有什么好建议？

It's not necessarily a fancy or expensive place. For instance, when our global CEO and family visited here, we brought them to a small restaurant in a hutong called Black Sesame Kitchen.

刘希平：不一定要是豪华或者昂贵的地方。比如我们公司的全球CEO和家人来中国的时候，我们带他们去了一个在胡同里的小餐厅，名叫黑芝麻厨房(Black Sesame Kitchen)。

They only have one room and four tables─they don't even have a toilet─but the food is great. I think for good restaurants, I would rather give recommendations for really good food, something very authentic that has some local touches and value for the money. I don't usually recommend big restaurants in five-star hotels.

这家餐厅只有一间屋子和四张桌子，连洗手间都没有，但菜很不错。我觉得对于好的餐厅，我推荐的理由会是真正好吃的食物，有正宗的本地特色菜，而且要物有所值。我一般不推荐五星级酒店的大餐厅。

Favorite travel souvenir?

《华尔街日报》：最喜欢的出行纪念品？

I collect photos. I'm always attracted not to scenery or the attractions of the destination, but to people. So I always take photos on the street, or of waiters, waitresses. I don't frame them, but I post them on Weibo.

刘希平：我喜欢收集照片。吸引我的不是目的地的景色或景点，而是人。所以我总是在街上拍照，或者拍餐厅的服务员。我不会把照片洗出来加框，但我会上传到微博。

So you write about your travels on your blog?

《华尔街日报》：所以你会在博客上分享你的旅行经历吗？

Not about the entire trip, but for instance, when I go to New York, I'll take photos of the people who dress well, the many very nice public areas, a space where you can just have coffee─that's new to me, so I want to share it with my followers. And the food. It's not the big story, but the small things that impress me.

刘希平：不会写整个旅途，但是比如去纽约的时候，我会拍那些穿着很棒的人，很漂亮的公共场所，某个可以喝咖啡的地方，这些对我来说都是新的，所以我想跟我的粉丝分享。还有食物。打动我的不是什么大事件，而是不起眼的小事。

Favorite hotel in Asia?

《华尔街日报》：亚洲最喜欢的酒店？

Aman at Summer Palace in Beijing. The setting is right beside the Summer Palace, so in the evening when the palace is closed, the hotel residents have access. Its design follows the temples of the Qing dynasty, so it also gives you some peace of mind and tranquility.

刘希平：北京颐和安缦酒店(Aman at Summer Palace)。这家酒店就在颐和园旁边，所以晚上颐和园关门的时候，酒店的旅客还可以进去。酒店设计类似清代的寺庙，所以会让人感到平静。

How long does it take you to pack?

《华尔街日报》：整理行李需要多长时间？

It doesn't take long. If it's a long trip, I don't usually carry a lot of things because I know I will buy things at my destination. Some brands are so expensive in China that I usually shop when I travel. Then, what also occupies my suitcase is my toiletries bag. I have a lot of skin-care products. I also go to the gym, so I'll take sports shoes and gym wear. These are kind of my travel musts.

刘希平：时间不长。如果是长途出行，我一般不会带很多东西，因为我会在目的地买东西。有些品牌在中国太贵了，我一般都在出行的时候买。另外我的箱子里还有洗漱包。我有很多护肤品。我也会去健身房，所以我会带运动鞋和运动服。这些都是我出行的必备品。

Your luggage brand?

《华尔街日报》：你用哪个牌子的行李箱？

Rimowa. It's a German brand. I think it has good endurance, and also I have a collection of several in the same bright color. I love the color blue.

刘希平：Rimowa。这是一个德国品牌，我觉得它很耐用，而且我有好几个亮蓝色的这种箱子。我喜欢蓝色。

Travel tip 101?

《华尔街日报》：你的出行基本要诀？

If you can hand-carry, just go with the hand-carry. If you check in your bag, it will take longer than you expect to get your bag.

刘希平：能手提就手提。如果托运行李的话，取行李的时间会比你想象的长。

I'll take more than one day's underwear with me, especially in China, because if the flight is delayed for a whole day you may need extra underwear and socks. For some long-haul flights I will usually bring my own entertainment, DVDs, plus some good earphones.

我会带多一天用的内衣，尤其是在中国，因为如果航班延误一天的话，可能就需要额外的内衣和袜子。乘坐长途航班我一般会带自己的娱乐设备、DVD，还有一些音质好的耳机。

Strategies for beating jet lag?

《华尔街日报》：你怎么倒时差？

Even though I'm 51, I haven't been suffering a lot. I can easily fall asleep on flights, and when I get to my destination, if it's morning, I don't go to bed. If it's evening, I'll get some melatonin. But if it's a short trip, even when I go to New York for only two days, sometimes I don't adjust to the local time.

刘希平：虽然我已经51岁了，但我时差反应不是很大。我在飞机上可以很容易睡着，如果到目的地的时候是早晨，我就不会睡觉。如果是晚上，我会吃一些褪黑素。但如果是短途，比如即便只去纽约两天时间，有时候我也适应不了当地时间。

Worst travel experience?

《华尔街日报》：最糟糕的出行经历？

It was actually because I think my secretary didn't do a good job. I told her, American Airlines is our client, so if it's possible, I want to fly American Airlines. So for a trip to L.A., the secretary booked me on a flight. I flew from Beijing to Shanghai to Chicago and then to L.A. The whole trip took me more than 24 hours. The trip itself was OK, but I don't need that.

刘希平：实际上我觉得是因为我的秘书工作做得不到位。我跟她说美国航空(American Airlines)是我们的客户，所以如果可能的话，我希望乘坐美国航空的航班。所以去洛杉矶的时候，我的秘书帮我订了一趟航班。我从北京飞到上海，再飞到芝加哥，然后到洛杉矶。整个旅途花了我超过24小时。旅途本身还可以，但我不需要这么辗转。

Do you have the same secretary today?

《华尔街日报》：你现在的秘书还是原来那个吗？

No.
