The jacket worn by Michael Jackson in his "Thriller" music videosold at auction for $1.5 million (￡940,000).

The autographedred and black calfskinjacket far exceeded its estimated selling price of $400,000 (￡250,000) as it went to a collector from Austin, Texas. A "buyer's premium" fee charged by the auction house brought the total cost of the jacket to $1.8 million (￡1.13 million)

A pair of sunglasses belonging to the "King of Pop" also went under the hammerfor $50,000 (￡31,000.)
