Afghan Taliban leader Mullah Mohammad Omar has been killed in Pakistan, a private television channel reported Monday.

"Mullah Omar was killed on way from Quetta to North Waziristan, " TOLO television said in its news bulletin. However, it did not provide details on how he was killed and by whom.

“奥马尔在从基达前往瓦齐里斯坦北部的途中被击毙。” TOLO电视台在其资讯公报中表示，但未透露是如何被击毙及凶手是谁等细节。

Meanwhile, a security official confirmed the killing, saying, " It is correct that Mullah Omar has been killed." The official emphasized that Mullah Omar was killed inside Pakistan.

Taliban militants fighting Afghan and NATO-led troops in Afghanistan have yet to make comment.
