Self-packaging and Job-hunting 自我包装与寻找工作

We are often taught “Don’t judge peoplesolely by their appearance, after all, nothing else but genuine talent is theleading factor to make a person successful in modern society.” Such saying havedeeply noted in our belief. Just like commodities—they need delicate andparticular packages, we become increasingly aware that a person also needspackaging, especially in job hunting.

我们经常受到教诲说“切勿以貌取人，毕竟在当今社会有真才实学才是人们成功的首要条件。”这类格言深深植根在我们的心中。但是发生在世纪之交的一切改变了我们的看法。我们逐渐认识到商品需要有精致独特的包装，人也应该像它们一样，需要包装，尤其是找工作时。

When we are finding jobs after graduate, wehave to face the society. Although we have learned enough knowledge and skillto make us qualified for the jobs, we also have to consider our self-image inorder to make a good impression on the interviewers. Don’t dress still likestudents. If we do so, they will say,” you look like a middle school student”.Such remarks are critical, and it does not mean that we are young andenergetic, but we are childish and immature to get a decent, high-paying job. Weshould wear formal clothes or suits to our own taste, and show our mature, calmand confident aspects. We just intend to make the interviewers aware that weare mature and credible adults.

毕业找工作时我们所要面对的是社会。虽然我们已经有足够的知识技能，具备做某些工作的能力，但我们还要考虑到形象，以求给考官留应该好印象。不要以学生的模样出现，如果这样穿着，他们会说“你看起来像中学生”。这样的评价有些尖刻，若想找一份体面、高薪的工作，我们应该穿着适合自己的、能出正式场合的服装，这类服装能体现我们成熟、沉着，而我们也正是要招考官认识到我们是成熟、可靠的成年人。

However, virtue is better than beauty.Skin-deep beauty can’t last and attract people forever. People’s capability,personal charm and qualifications are still very important. To be a successfulperson, we still get a long way to go. We need a period of time to enrich ourknowledge, to build up our experience, to improve our personalities.

但是，美德胜过美貌。肤浅的外表之美不能永远持久地吸引人们。能力、个人魅力和资历仍然占主要地位，要成功，我们还需要很长时间。我们需要一段时间来丰富经历，在实践中增加知识，完善我们的个性。
