PHNOM PENH, Feb. 24 -- Thailand beat Cambodia 5-3 in penalty shootout in the semi-finals of the Asian U22 Championship here on Sunday.
Thailand will face Indonesia, which defeated Vietnam 1-0 in the other semi earlier of the day, in the final on Tuesday.
Neither side scored in the regular 90-minute game and the extra time ended by 0-0 too before Thailand won the penalty shootout.
In the other match, Luthfi Kamal Baharsyah emerged as the hero for Indonesia as he hit the only goal of the match on a free kick in the 70th minute.
Cambodia, Vietnam, Thailand, Myanmar, Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Timor-Leste, competed in the tournament, which is slated on February 17-26 at the Olympic Stadium in Phnom Penh, capital of Cambodia.
