HANOI, Aug. 21 -- The border guard force of Vietnam's central Nghe An province arrested a Lao man on Tuesday when he was transporting 3,000 pills of synthetic drug.
The young man was detained in Nghe An's Thanh Chuong district after he crossed the border to Vietnam, said the provincial border guard force.
According to the Vietnamese law, those convicted of smuggling over 600 grams of heroin or more than 2.5 kg of methamphetamine are punishable by death. Making or trading 100 grams of heroin or 300 grams of other illegal drugs also faces death penalty.
