状语从句的句型结构转换（通讯员供稿）

英汉两种语言中的状语的表达本该有很大的差异，但在中文的译文里，英文各类状语从句结构却屡见不鲜，比如我们常常会看到这样的句子："他是如此的累，以至于不能再工作下去。"我们知道这是受英文so…that结果状语从句结构的影响，而不懂英文的人虽然可以明白这样的句子，可总会觉得别扭。其实不少采用英文结构译出来的句子都可以利用另外的译法，避免原文的句型结构。
我们来看看一些状语是如何在中文里表达的：
1. He stole, not because he wanted the money but because he liked stealing.
如果我们直接采用英语的状语从句结构，就会译成：
他偷窃，不是因为钱，而是因为他喜欢偷。
但中文里这样表达会更加自然：
他偷窃的目的不是钱，他就是喜欢偷。
