The issue has highlighted unsafe transport conditions and has aroused a widespread concern among the government, schools and parents as well.

　　We also have had a discussion about it in class. The following are the reasons we have thought of. First of all, overcrowding on school buses is common in China. For example, one bus, originally a nine-seat van, was carrying 62 children and two adults when it crashed. Secondly, school buses are not up to safety standards. Many passenger seats had been removed to make more space to overload. Usually, school buses are of poor quality and are not strong enough to bear any accidents. Thirdly, some of the drivers are not skilled and experienced. Last but not least, lack of strict management of school buses is also one of the main reasons.

　　In my opinion, School buses are meant to provide safe and convenient transportation to schoolchildren, but now they have become killers. Therefore it’s high time we should do something to stop it. Severely overloaded van should be forbidden. Once found, the driver should be seriously punished. The government should perform its duties to issue bus-safety regulations, conduct bus safety inspections and strengthen management of school buses. They should also allocate more funds to buy better school buses for children Drivers would also be required to conduct safety checks of buses daily. Only by joining forces can we solve the problem.
