《What a Wonderful World》一歌由Bob Thiele（署名George Douglas）和George David Weiss创作。由Louis Armstrong首次录制并于1967年作为单曲发行。Thiele和Weiss两人都享誉音乐界（Thiele作为制作人而Weiss作为作曲家和表演者）。Armstrong的录制版本于1999年进入格莱美名人堂。

路易斯·阿姆斯特朗（被称为爵士音乐之王）于1967年演唱了这首歌，他那具有强烈感染力的声音是这首歌充满了激动之情与乐观精神。如今，《多么美妙的世界》已成为20世纪“流行音乐的圣歌”（The Anthem of Pop Music）,很多歌手都曾经翻唱过这首名曲。
