Hello! Today we’re going to learn how to talk on the phone in English. Speaking on the phone can be difficult for a person learning a new language, especially as you are not able to see the person you are speaking to and are not able to read their lips in order to better understand what they are saying.

大家好！今天我们要学习怎么用英语打电话。在电话上用外语进行交流，这对初学者来说是很困难的，尤其是当你看不见你交谈的对象并且不能用读唇语来获得更好的理解时。

It is therefore important, as a language learner, to learn some set phrases or sentences that you can use when speaking on the phone to ask for information, reply to simple questions, etc. Let’s look at some common expressions which are used on the telephone. If memorised, they will help you all master conversation skills when speaking on the phone.

Answering the Phone

接电话时

1.Hello? (informal)

你好。（非正式）

2.Good morning/afternoon/evening This is X (your name)

早上/下午/晚上好。我是某某（你的名字）

3.X (company name). Good morning/afternoon/evening

4.Hello? How may I help you?
