Like mother, like daughter: Katie and Suri enjoy a day at the park

While baby Suri, who was born last April, opted for a casual ensemble consisting of a smock dress and trendy Birkenstock sandals, her mother chose style over comfort in a pair of three-inch heels and high-waisted tartan trousers.

As the youngster took tentative steps along a grassy bank, the former Dawsons Creek star watched on proudly, holding her hand all the while.

"When Suri was first born most people thought she took after Tom, but one year on, it is most definitely Katie who she resembles," said an onlooker.

"Although it is too early to tell whether Suri has inherited her mum's height, she already has her eyes, hair and mouth.

"And, just like Katie, she has remarkably full lips. With near identical hair styles, it even looks as though they share the same hairdresser!

"But mother and daughter clearly have a very strong bond - Katie looks absolutely besotted with her first born."

The family are currently in Germany as Cruise, 44, films the controversial Valkyrie, a movie about a 1944 plot to assassinate Adolf Hitler.

Their latest excursion, however, was not without its fair share of difficulty. According to reports, the pair had initially planned to spend the day at the official party opening of Berlin's Fashion Week. But after arriving fashionably late, they were denied access to the Hugo Boss event because the venue had reached capacity.

Instead, mother and daughter found themselves at a loss for what to do - ending up in the park, home of Berlin's biggest zoo.

The Cruises are expected back to their home in LA imminently to welcome their close friends - and now neighbours - David and Victoria Beckham to America.
