Daniel Radcliffe, Harry Potter star, can't find a girlfriend

Daniel Radcliffe, star of the Harry Potter films, says his love life is far from magic as he cannot find a girlfriend.

Radcliffe, who is 20 next week, has thousands of adoring female fans around the world but is single.

He told the reporters: "You know, I'm not really doing the dating thing, I don't feel like I'm in the world of dating. I don't feel like a young twenty something.

"I'm happy working but it's not a case of 'I don't have time for a girlfriend'. I do. It's just like everyone else who's single I suppose."

In his new film Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince out this week, Radcliffe kisses Ginny Weasley, played by Bonnie Wright.

He said: "I saw the film a couple of nights ago and my lips are like the lips of a horse, kind of distending away from my face, trying to encompass the lower half of hers. So I apologise, Bonnie."

After six films and nearly 10 years of Harry Potter, Radcliffe is glad to be hanging up his quidditch broomstick.

"Quidditch is right up there with the least fun things I've done in Harry Potter," he said.

"It does hurt quite a lot and it's not something I would rush back to."

Radcliffe has had quidditch scenes in virtually all of the Potter films up to now, and said the seventh – Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows – had been a relief because it doesn't feature the sport.
