　　abl,capable ,competent,qualified 这组词均表示有能力、有资格、有才能做其事，或胜任某项工作。

　　able：有能力的、能干的着重指行为或实践方面的能力，强调人有能力把事情做得好，常作表语，后常接不定式。

　　They are able to cope intelligently with weighty problems of foreign policy. 他们能够明智地处理重大的对外政策问题。

　　He is an able writer whose first novel was published in 1924. 他是个有能力的作家，他的第一部小说在1924 年就出版了。

　　capable：能胜任的、能接受的，具有可能性的，着重指行为方面的适应性，强调一般的工作效能，此词有褒贬两层含义，当作定语或表语，作表语时须接of+名词。
