　　3.wheter，if 这两个连接词都表示 是否、是不是 之意。

　　whether： 是否、无论、不管是否 它可以表示两种不同的条件或情况，意为不论还是，可以引导间接引语. 也可表示疑惑，意思都是 是否。在下列情况下，不能用if代替：引导不定式： 引导不定式： 作介词宾语： 在名词之后引导同位语： 引导主语从句并置于句首： 与or not连用。常用短语：whetheror 不论还是;whether or not是否;whether by accident or design 不知是无意还是有意。

　　This is certainly the case, but whether it is a defect or not I dont quite know. 这肯定是事实，但它是否是一个缺点，我真的不知道。

　　if： 是否 一般用在口语中，通常只能引导宾语从句，可以和whether 交换使用。常用在wonder 等动词之后。

　　I wonder if his action will be in agreement with his word thistime. 我不知道他这次是否能言行一致。

　　26. till ，until都直到 之意。

　　till：多用于口语。在肯定句中，与表示持续动作的动词连用，表示某个动作或状态延续 到为止： 在否定句中，一般不能置于句首。

　　He didnt join the army till th civil war broke out. 直到战争爆发，他才参了军。

　　until：比till更为正式，可以置于句首，更适用于引导较长的从句或强调句中。常用短语：not until 直到才。

　　He did not go to bed until he had made sure that nothing was wrong wilh the pipes. 直到他确信水管没毛病了才去睡觉。
