　　I am truly sorry that I cannot go to your birthday party this Sunday as a result of an unexpected examination.

　　The reason is that my teacher suddenly informs me to take an examination next Monday and I have not recited the textbooks well. Moreover, this examination is very likely to decide whether could I study abroad or not. Therefore, I could not go to your birthday party this Sunday. Once again, I am sorry for any inconvenience caused. Hope you can accept my apologies and understand my situation.
