According to the figure shown in a research, about 61% college students need psychological guidance in coping with interpersonal relationship.
Several factors account for this phenomenon. For one thing, since many students are from one-child families and have never lived in dormitories before entering college, it s normal for them to meet difficulties in getting along with others. For another, most middle schools, giving priorities to students academic performance, have neglected the nurture of their sound personality and ability of communication. Besides, some parents improper way of education also leads to the children s incompetence in human relations.Considering all these, I suggest that colleges establish a complete system of mental counseling for students, including regular speeches and courses on psychology, free professional consultations, etc.. Parents are also supposed to give a hand in dealing with children s emotional dilemma. Finally, students themselves should take an active attitude towards group life,and consciously develop harmonious relations with others.
