China also halted/stopped approving new nuclear power stations and a nationwide safety inspection for all nuclear stations were carried out. China did not restart its approval of nuclear plants until October, 2012.

　　With the improvement/enhancement of technology and security measures, the possibilities/ likelihood of nuclear accidents could be reduced to the minimum. That is to say, nuclear power could be developed and utilized safely.
