　　1. The impression is strengthened when we look at ourselves and find that we have become largely a society of musical spectators.

　　【译文】当我们反观自己，发现大多数人已经成为音乐旁观者的一员，这个印象便得以加深。

　　【析句】本例句结构较简单，由主句和从句构成。主句The impression is strengthened,后面是when引导的时间状语从句when we look at ourselves and find that..., 时间状语从句中又包含that引导find的宾语从句。

　　2. In most situations where music is performed in our culture it is not difficult to distinguish the audience from the performers, but such is often not the case in Africa.

　　【译文】在我们的文化环境中表演音乐节目的时候，大多数情况下不难将观众与表演者区分开来，但在非洲情况往往相反。

　　【析句】主句it is not difficult to distinguish..., but such is not the case, it作形式主语，真正主语是不定式，but连接两个简单句。in most situations作地点状语，where music is performed...是定语从句修饰situations。

　　3. Performances often take place in an open area and so the lines between the performing nucleus and the additional performers, active spectators, and passive spectators may be difficult to draw from our point of view.

　　【译文】演出通常在空地上举办，因此表演的中心和助演、活跃观众、被动观众之间的界限可能难以界定。

　　【析句】本例句没有从句，and连接两个简单句，前句Performances take place, 后句so the lines between...and...may be difficult...。
