　　1. A specialist who performs a procedure in a 30-minute visit can be paid three times more than a primary care physician using that same 30 minutes to discuss a patients disease.

　　分析：主干：A specialist... can be paid three times more than a...physician...

　　本句是比较句，specialist和physician对比。主语a specialisi后有一个who引导的定语从句修饰;physician有一个前置修饰语primary care和一个后置的现在分词短语using...修饰。不定式to discuss...作using...的目的状语。

　　译文:一名专科医生为病人治疗30分钟，他获得的收入相当于一个初级保健医生用相同的时间讨论病人的病情所获得收入的3倍以上。

　　2. It is clear, for example,that the carbon cost of transporting tomatoes from Spain to the UK is less than that of producing them in the UK with additional heating and lighting.

　　分析：主干：It is clear... that

　　句首的it是形式主语，真正的主语是逗号后的that从句。主语从句本身是个比较句，比较的双方是两种不同方式所需的carhon cost，这两种方式都用of短语引导出来，of后的两个动名词都作介词宾语。
