高一英语语法惯用法：why not习惯上不与过去时间状语连用

　　一、基本用法

　　why not后接动词，其意为你为什么不呢，它主要用于提出建议。如：

　　Why not use both? 为什么不两者都用?

　　Why not write from Lisbon? 干吗不从里斯本写信?

　　But why not write him from Lisbon? 干吗不从里斯本给他写信?

　　Youre looking tired. Why not take a holiday? 你一脸倦容，怎么不休假呢?

　　比较：

　　何不坐地铁去?

　　正：Why not go by subway?

　　正：Why dont you go by subway?

　　我们碰个头讨论一下这件事不行吗?

　　正：Why dont we meet and discuss it?

　　正：Why not meet and discuss it?

　　二、用法注意

　　该结构通常只能用于现在或将来，而不能用于过去。如：

　　你昨天为什么不打扫房间?

　　误：Why not clean the room yesterday?

　　正：Why didnt you clean the room yesterday?
