GRE ISSUE写作素材之艺术与文化类素材段落

　　在GRE ISSUE的244个题目构成的题库中，文化类和艺术类这两大类话题是同学们比较难写的，因为涉及的概念是现在很多同学普遍缺乏的领域---人文科学，下面对于艺术和文化类话题中的艺术欣赏与审美的概念进行一个补充，便于大家在写这两大类话题的时候能够灵活发挥。

　　We must be aware of the global culture and heritage from which art emerges. For example when teaching our students art aesthetics, we must never let them think that there is only one way to view art. Students, and especially teachers, should be acceptable to all ways in which art evaluation can occur. Western aesthetics is based primarily on individuality, originality, permanence, and form. These factors cannot be applied to art from every culture. For example, African art is understood in terms of rites of passage, healing, power, control, and commerce. Students must be taught to understand the principles of art as they are understood by the cultural group in which they belong in order to truly achieve global awareness and appreciation for art. Obviously, teachers must gain this awareness themselves before they can impart it to their students.
