Momentary/m+ument+ri/的意思是瞬刻的、暂时的（transitory or lasting only for a moment），其后常跟pain、interruption、expectation、happiness、emotion等词，其同义词是transient/ephemeral；反义语是lasting.例：

那是一种短暂的反应。
Momentous/m+ument+s/的意思是重大的、重大的（of great consequence）。其后常跟events、news、moments、date（等词，其同义词是important、highly significant；反义语是trifling.例：
Hong Kongs return to China is a momentous event in 1997．
香港回归中国是1997年的重要大事。
This news is momentous to you．
此消息对你很重要。
