中国银行间市场交易商协会已接受韩国政府在我国银行间债券市场发行30亿元人民币主权债券的注册。这是韩国在华首次发债，也是首个境外主权国家在华发行“熊猫债券”。

The 3 billion yuan ($464 million) so-called "panda bond" was sold at a yield of 3 percent after South Korea was approved to issue the three-year bond early last week, according to a statement from South Korea's finance ministry.
据韩国财政部发布的声明表示，上周韩国政府已获授权发行3年期债券，此次发行的30亿元人民币（合4.64亿美元）“熊猫债券”，中标利率为3.0%。
“熊猫债券”（panda bond）指境外和多边金融机构等在华发行的人民币债券（yuan-denominated bond），也就是一种外国债券（foreign bond）。根据国际惯例，在一个国家的国内市场发行本币债券时，一般以该国最具特征的吉祥物命名，如IBM公司在日本发行的债券被称之为“武士债券”（Samurai bond），英国天然气公司在美国发行的债券被称之为“扬基债券”（Yankee bond），还有英国的“猛犬债券”（Bulldog bond）和西班牙的“斗牛士债券”（Matador Bond）等。
这是韩国在华首次发债，也是首个境外主权国家在华发行“熊猫债券”。中诚信国际信用评级有限责任公司（CCXI）评定韩国2015年人民币债券信用级别（credit rating）为AAA。
据世界银行旗下的国际金融公司预测，受人民币加入国际货币基金组织特别提款权（SDR）货币篮子影响，未来五年熊猫债市场规模有望超过3200亿元。
