Pay raise for rural teachers
乡村教师待遇有望提高
China's 3.3m rural teachers are expected to get abig pay raise after the General Office of the StateCouncil recently issued the Rural Teachers SupportPlan (2015-2020).
国务院办公厅近日印发《乡村教师支持计划(2015-2020年)》,中国330万乡村教师的待遇有望大幅提高。
The country will make sure that rural teachers' wages are no less than those of local civilservants, said Xu Tao, director in charge of teachers' affairs with the Ministry of Education.
教育部教师工作司司长许涛指出,要保证乡村教师的工资水平不低于当地公务员。
The plan also suggested the establishment of a system to raise rural teachers' sense ofhonor. The country will award a certificate of honor to teachers who have worked in rural areasfor more than 30 years.
为提高乡村教师荣誉感,《计划》提出建立乡村教师荣誉制度,国家对在乡村学校从教30年以上的教师按照有关规定颁发荣誉证书。
