With the development of technology, more andmore people are making use of the Internet and areenjoying downloading all types of materials. Someare especially fond of downloading free music. Theyargue that free music downloads not only enrichtheir lives, but also are good for the music industrybecause they help increase the popularity of music.

However, from my point of view, it is not advisable to allow free music downloads. For onething, this practice violates the intellectual property rights of musicians. For another, this willexert a negative impact on the sales of musical products such as CDs, which may do harm tothe whole music industry. Without good returns, who would like to invest in the music industry?

In order that the music industry will develop healthily, we had better ban free musicdownloads. Let’s all start to do so ourselves.
