国内英语资讯:Senior CPC official calls for publicity of moral role models

BEIJING, June 14 -- A senior Communist Party of China (CPC) official on Friday called for extensive publicity of outstanding moral role models in a bid to promote patriotism, dedication and hard work among the people for a better life.

Huang Kunming, a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and head of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, made the remarks at a meeting with the outstanding role models of Beijing.

Huang said the role models have carried forward core socialist values with action and illustrated the Chinese spirit and Chinese strength with hard work and dedication.

Beijing launched the campaign of "Seeking Moral Role Models from Beijing" in 2017.

A total of 50 outstanding role models selected over the last five years were honored as "role models of the time" by the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee in February.

Cai Qi, a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and secretary of the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee, also attended the meeting Friday.
