2)The population in this city has now increased (decreased)to 800，000.

3)The output of July in this factory increased by 15% compared with that of January.

4)The number of …. grew（increased或rose）steadily from … to…..in 2009.

5)The number of … dropped（decreased或fall）steadily from … to …in 2008.

例句：

表示数量的短语：

1.many、a number of、a few、many a、several这些是常用的修饰可数名词的表示数量多的词语，都意为”许多“

2.much、a great deal of、a large amount of这些单词常用于表示不可数名词的数量多，意为”许多“

3.a lot of (lots of )、 plenty of、 a large quantity of这些词语则是两种都可，即不仅能修饰可数名词，也可修饰不可数名词，也是意为“许多”
