Spain take on Honduras in the final match of the second round group stage fixtures at the 2010 FIFA World Cup here on Monday.
Spain can't afford to lose or draw this match, and won't be taking victory for granted either, after they conceded their opener 1-0 to Switzerland in Durban on June 16.
Spain and Honudras have met once in the past at the 1982 World Cup where Spain drew 1-1 with Honduras.
Spain's form had been flawless up until the loss to Switzerland, which ended Spain's run of 12 victories in a row. It seems inconceivable that Spain will squander as many chances against Honduras.
Despite the loss, Spain have still scored 12 goals in five matches, while their defence conceded only three goals during the period.
Honduras, meanwhile, have drawn two and lost three of their last five matches. The side was comprehensively outclassed by Chile in their opening match and appeared to be bound for an early exit as they have scored just two goals in the last five matches, one of the lowest scoring rates at the tournament.
At the start of the World Cup, many observers backed Spain to win the competition. However, things got a bit rough for the Spain fans as the European champions suffered the shock to Switzerland.
Honduras are the "weak link" in the group where Switzerland and Chile all expected to fight for the top two places. They opened the World Cup campaign with a 1-0 defeat that was more comprehensive than the scoreline suggests. Injuries and limited resources mean that Reinaldo Rueda's side will be desperate to take anything that they can get.
In history, Spain have made 12 previous World Cup apperances while Honduras only made once in the 1982 World Cup Spain.
