In recent years, more and more people are becoming vegetarian. Some of them choose not to eat meat or fish for health or religious reasons. Some do so because they want to avoid cruelty to animals.
People have very different opinions about vegetarians. Some maintain that going vegetarians benefits not only people s health but also the environment, since human beings are not born to eat meat or fish and vegetarians produce much less carbon .Others, however, argue that a diet consisting completely of vegetables, fruits, grains and nuts fails to provide essential nutrients such as vitamins and fat for people. In this case, it s more likely that a vegetarian will suffer form malnutrition.
Both sides give their reasonable explanation. Nonetheless, whether to be vegetarian, in my opinion, it still depends. For overweight adults, vegetarianism would be a good choice for both their health and body shape, so then should give it a try. However, for underweight people or children who need different types of food necessary for healthy growing, vegetarianism is not recommended.
