bit, piece, sheet, slice, fragment, scrap
这些名词均含有片、块、段之意。
1.bit :侧重指微小，一点点，小碎片。
The floor is covered in bits of paper.（地板上全都是碎纸片。）
2.piece :最普通用词，多指从整体上分割下来的东西，可大可小。
I dropped the plate and it fell to pieces.（我把盘子摔得粉碎。）
3.sheet :侧重指平整很薄的一张或一片。
A sheet of frost covers the windshield.（一层霜覆盖了挡风玻璃。）
4.slice :多指切得很薄的一片食物。
Please cut bread into thin slices.（请把面包切成薄片。）
5.fragment :指破裂的，不完整的，不可完整的碎片。
They have found several fragments of a Roman vase in the area.（在这一地区他们发现了一只罗马瓷瓶的碎片。）
6.scrap :侧重指废弃的零碎之物。
She creates sculptures out of scrap materials.（她利用废旧材料进行雕塑创作。）
