　　★　We both have too much work to do.

　　We both have too much work to do.我们两人都有许多工作要做。

　　Both 表示两个都，注意和none,each,either,neither等词的区别：none 用于三者或三者以上的范围，表示无一,each 用于三者或三者以上的范围，表示每一个,either用于二者范围，表示两者中的一个,neither用于二者范围，表示两者中无一。例如：

　　Both of us study in the same school.

　　我们两人都在一个学校里学习。

　　I dont know any of them.

　　他们我都不认识。

　　You can take either of them away.

　　你可以拿走一个。

　　Neither of the answers is right.

　　两个答案没一个是对的。

　　★　I like writing to my penfriend,but it takes a lot of time.

　　I like writing to my penfriend,but it takes a lot of time.我喜欢给笔友写信，但就是要花费好多时间。

　　Take 表示花费，指干某事花费人的时间，和spend 是同义词，但spend 指得是人花费时间去干某事。两个的主语一个是人，一个物。例如：

　　It took five hours for me to find his house.

　　找它的房子花了我五个小时。

　　I spend all of my spare time（业余时间）to do it.

　　我把所有的业余时间都用来做这件事。

　　★　There are a lot of sheep down there,buthardly any people!

　　There are a lot of sheep down there,but hardly any people!下面有好多羊，但是很少有人。

　　Hardly 表示几乎不，是一副词，常和any 或a 连用。例如：

　　He is ill and he can hardly walk.

　　他病了，并且几乎走不动。

　　There are hardly any students in the classroom this time.

　　这个时候教室里几乎没有学生。
