　　现代社会竞争激烈，压力很大，有时就连放松都会有困难。（Do you have trouble relaxing?）其中，have trouble/difficult + doing做觉得困难，试试用这个句型表达你的看法，也许，I have trouble communicating.（我觉得与人沟通很难。）也许，你在开发新产品时遇到了困难，就可以说：I have difficult developing new products.

　　也许，你的身体会在运动中受伤（your body hurt after exercise）。如果你的情况就像这样，（So是副词，意思是像这样，如此）没关系，不管是内伤外伤，熏衣草一到，全无敌！用含有熏衣草的按摩油（massage oil that has lavender in it）做个马杀***，保你一身轻松。（注意that引导的定语从句，它修饰的massage oil，意思是试试含有熏衣草的按摩油。）

　　几百年前（hundreds of years ago），薰衣草就被国王和王后们（Lavender was used by kings and queens）用来做保健品（to help them relax），同时这种香味也使房间里的味道闻起来很舒适（make their rooms smell pleasant）。hundreds of years ago是几百年前，这里hundreds of意思是数以百计，许多，同样的道理，hundreds and thousands就是成百上千或成千上万的意思（因为英语里没有万这个单位），如：Hundreds and thousands of people joined the antiwar march.（成千上万的人参加了这次反战游行。）

　　另外，熏衣草在烹调中还有其他的用途（use）。不论你是用来拌色拉，或放在色拉上，做饼干、果酱，或是搭配鸡肉，味道都不错哦（tastes great）。

　　为什么熏衣草会有这样神奇的调味作用呢？原因就是：

　　它是薄荷家族中的一员（it is part of the mint family），那种清凉的甜味（sweetness）能为一般被认为苦涩的菜肴增添鲜美的风味（gives a lovely taste on dishes usually thought to be bitter）。

　　「语法小教室」

　　还记得文中的这句话吗：Lavender was used by kings and queens hundreds of years ago to help them relax and make their rooms smell pleasant.注意最后的几个词：

　　their rooms smell pleasant（屋子闻起来让人感觉舒适）

　　在我们的印象中，这样的句子似乎应该用被动语态表达，因为只有人才能闻到味道，屋子里的味道显然是被人闻到的。这是怎么回事呢？今天我们就来了解一下，英语中主动语态表达被动意思的情况。

　　My voice doesnt carry well.我的声音传不远。

　　Enamel wares clean easily.搪瓷器皿容易弄干净。

　　This box doesnt close properly.这箱子关不拢。

　　These apples cook well．这些苹果适于烹煮。

　　找出里面的动词carry, clean, close, cook再加上smell，都是不及物动词。此外，还有一些不及物动词也有这样的用法，就等待细心的你去发现了。

　　汉语中含数词的成语到处可见。如：百发百中，一箭双雕，五光十色等等。英语中含数词的成语和习语亦不少，适当使用可以使文章语言更加丰富多彩、生动活泼、幽默风趣，从而使文章达到良好修辞效果。

　　先看看和计数单位有关的成语：

　　the billion 无边无际0ceans are the billion.海洋无边无际。

　　hundred and hundred 长寿People in the mountain are hundred and hundred．山区的人很长寿。

　　下面说说百以内的：

　　fifty-fifty 对半（地）The apples weigh six jin（斤）. Lets take them fifty-fifty.这些苹果有6斤重，我们对半分吧。年轻人出去吃饭玩乐都喜欢搞AA制，如果你想和对方平坦账单，也可以说：Lets go fifty-fifty.

　　ten to one 很可能He is at school, isnt he?Yes．That must be ten to one.他在读书，对吗? 是的，很可能是。
