　　credible，creditable

　　这两个词并非同义词。credible表示可信的（believable or trustworthy）意思，通常指人物、言语、历史、故事等的可信；creditable表示可称誉的、可赞赏的（honourable，respectable or praiseworthy）意思，通常指人的行为，表现或工作而言。例：

　　This is hardly credible．

　　此事难以置信。

　　His words are credible．

　　The performance of Broadway Show is highly creditable．
