相似词语辨析【90】into，in to

　　into，in to

　　这一对词很易混淆。

　　Into是介词，它引导介词片语，在句中用作状语，表示进入之中或变成之意。例：

　　He fell into the pond．

　　他跌到池塘里去了。

　　The explorers get into difficulties．

　　探险人员陷入困境。

　　The boss flew into a temper．

　　老板发脾气了。

　　The conjurer changed a handkerchief into a loaf of bread．

　　魔术师把手帕变成一块面包。

　　The rain changed into snow．

　　雨变成雪了。

　　In to的 in是副词，同样有进入的意思，但 to 是介词或不定式的标记；作介词时，其后跟名词，作不定式标记时，其后跟动词原形。例：

　　Lets go in to look at the book show．

　　让我们进去看看书展。

　　比较 Less go into the hall to see the exhibition．意思都是进入，但into为复合介词。

　　Entries for the competition should be sent in to the editorial board before January 19th．

　　参加竞赛的人要将名字在一月十九日前送到编辑部。

　　（这里不能改用into）

　　需要注意的是，在某些场合下，into可以和in互换使用，但涵义不同。例：

　　Please put it into my pocket．

　　Please put it in my pocket．

　　第一句用into，它强调放入的动作；第二句用in，它只说明一件事（即动作的结果位置），没有强调说明某一事物从某个地点转至另一地点这一动作的过程。因此，在下句中，into不能改作in：

　　They are swimming from the English Channel into the North Sea．

　　他们正从英吉利海峡游入北海。

　　在下列中，in to亦不可改作into：

　　The news came in to us．

　　They went in to supper．

　　由以上各例句可见：into作为复合介词时，与其后的名词构成一词组，如 into the North Sea、into my pocket.而 in to的 in是副词，与前面的动词搭配，如 came in、went in、sent in、go in等。
