finally的用法

　　finally的用法

　　1. 表示先后顺序的最后、终于，通常放在句首。如：

　　The carwouldnt start, so finally we decided to go on foot. 汽车不能发动，所以我们最后决定走路去。

　　此用法尤其用于在列举时引出最后一项。如：

　　He lived in Turkey, France, Norway and finally Mexico. 他曾在土耳其、法国、挪威等国住过，最后还在墨西哥住过。

　　2. 表示等了好久才终于，此时通常放在谓语动词之前。如：

　　After several long delays, the plane finallyleft at 6 oclock. 在几次长时间的耽误之后，飞机终于在6点钟起飞。

　　When he finally arrived he explained he had lost hisway. 他最后赶到时，他解释说他迷路了。

　　3. 表示决定性的或不再更改的最后。如：

　　It is not finallysettled yet. 这事还未最后解决。

　　4. 区别 finally, at last, in the end。如：

　　三者都可表示经过许多变化、一段等候或一番拖延或曲折之后的最后，但有细微区别：finally 语气较轻，且平铺直叙，一般不带感情色彩，有时可与 in the end换用;而 at last则语气稍重，且往往带有一定的感情色彩。如：

　　Finally [in theend] he succeeded. 最后他成功了。

　　He succeeded at last. 他终于成功了。

　　in the end 可用来谈论将来的事，而其它两者一般不这样用。如：

　　In the end things will mend. 船到桥头自然直。

　　Im sureeverything will turn out all right in the end. 我相信最后一切都会好起来的。
