　　车载蓄电池怎么说？

　　　　8月11日下午，一列从浦东国际机场始发的磁悬浮列车，在驶抵龙阳路车站时，其中一节车厢起火。好在消防人员及时赶赴现场，并无大的人员伤亡。经初步分析，车载蓄电池故障导致此次火警事故的可能性较大。

　　　　请看新华相关报道：A faulty onboard storage battery has been identified as the possible cause of the fire that broke out on Shanghai's magnetic levitation （maglev） train on August 11.

　　　　Investigations conducted by Chinese and German technical experts show that the mainframe and parts of the carriage damaged by the fire were，basically in good condition， according to a spokesman with the Shanghai Maglev Transportation Development Company.

　　　　翻译车载蓄电池，其难点在于车载，报道中的onboard（storage battery）恰到好处地表达了车载的含义。Board常用来指搭乘交通工具，如We went on board the ship.（我们登上了轮船）；He boarded the bus.（他上了公共汽车）。相应的，onboard则用来形容在车上，随车携带的。

　　　　另外，再顺便提两个词组：（fall）overboard指从船上落入水中，如：A man overboard！（有人落水！）；若看到off-board，千万别以为和交通工具有关，off-board常用于股票市场，指场外的，如：an off-board transaction.（场外交易）。
