Bushed: 迷路的;精疲力尽的

词源学记载,bushed(疲惫不堪的)源于19世纪的澳大利亚英语表达“to be lost in the bush”(在丛林中迷路),Bush在这里指“灌木丛”。在澳洲,有大片偏僻的、不着边际的丛林地带,想象一下,假若您不小心步入其中迷了方向,您会怎么着?除非有很好的心理素质,否则为了寻出一条出路,要不了多久您就会被折磨得筋疲力尽、慌乱异常。 举个例子,You look bushed. (你看起来很疲倦。)
