Tom：

Lots of elderly people want peace and quiet in their old age, but young people want an unconstrained life.

很多老年人都希望自己的晚年生活能清净些，年轻人向往的却是无拘无束。

May：

It would be good for both if they lived separately. My parents want to live apart from their children.

如果分开过，就两全其美了。我父母就希望和孩子分开过。

Tom：

What if old people are in poor health and need to be looked after?

老年人身体不好需要照顾怎么办?

May：

Young people ought to carry out their responsibilities. If need be, they would live with their parents.

年轻人当然要承担责任，如果需要的话，他们会回到父母身边，一起生活的。

Tom：

When I'm old, I'll also be like that.

等我老了，我也这样。

May：

You need a child first, but where is your child?

那也得先有孩子呀，可你孩子在哪儿呢?
