职场英语学习：为新工作考核和拼命加班

爱德华:

You seem extra busy lately, working overtime and bringing work home.

最近怎么老是在加班.而且还把工作带回家做呢?

贝拉:

Yes, I`m really very busy these days.

是的.最近实在太忙了.

爱德华:

I`m concerned whether there are any problems at work.

我担心你是不是工作上出了什么问题.

贝拉:

No, I`m just putting in these extra efforts for the appraisal in July.

没有.我只是为了七月的考核而努力.

爱德华:

What`s there to worry about? Aren`t you always one of the apples of your boss`s eyes?

这有什么好担心的.你不一直都是你们老板眼中的红人吗?

贝拉:

It`s different this time. We got a new boss last month. I don`t know how he`s going to appraise us or how he is going to decide on the wage increase.

这次不一样.上个月上任了一个新老板.我都不知道他会怎么打考核成绩.怎么决定今年的加薪幅度.

爱德华:

Doesn`t the company have any standard appraisal system?

难道公司没有标准的评定制度吗?
