　　July 27, 2008 Wednesday

　　Today our Chinese teacher taught us a song. We learnt fast but sang it too loudly. He also asked us to retell a story. Something like those is very interesting. 2.5 hours passed quickly. Jessica gave us some pictures and asked us to write a story in 30 minutes, from one of the pictures. We discussed and finished it very well I think life here is becoming more and more interesting. At school we just learn grammar and do exercises in English classes, that’s really very boring. There will be a speaking competition on Saturday. I’m not willing to take part in it because I’m a little afraid of speaking before so many people. I have made a speech in junior middle school, I stood before 2000 students and felt very upset and nervous. Though I finished the speech, I don’t think my behavior was good. Maybe you think I need more practice, but I think I’m not good at speaking. I do better in writing than in speaking. I know I should be confident with myself, but I think I won’t speak very well in front of so many people. Even though I have learnt the article by heats when I stand on the stage. I may forget all of it that’s really a terrible thing.

　　Today we saw a movie at noon and in the afternoon. It’s name suggested that it was a horrific one, but it wasn’t horrific at all. We finished watching at 5:30pm, and walked to our dormitories when we got there, it was 6:00. we had our dinner as quickly as we could and then rushed to the classroom. I’ve never been in such a hurry! In the afternoon we acted. We watched to a short play for three times and the teacher asked us to act. It was a little difficult, because we couldn’t remember all the sentences by watching the play for three times. We tried to remember something. Though the play had been changed a little, it was still very good we all acted very well. The teacher also gave some group prizes. Though my group hadn’t hot once, I didn’t mind.

　　There is one thing that made me very happy. One of my classmates said “happy birthday to me by sending a message. Though it was late, I still felt happy.

　　July 24, 2008

　　Matt gave us a class this afternoon, at the first part of the class, we saw a film. It was mainly about American football. After the film, we began t get to know the American football. It is similar to soccer, but it was much rougher. Players might get more easily. In another word, it was a game full of danger, they played just like fighting. One of the players just broke his leg during the match, and he would never play American football, because of his leg. What a pity! Matt told us that when he was in high school, he also take part in American football. He had broken his fingers for three times and his leg for once. Then I was puzzled, it was a very dangerous game, why was is popular?

　　July 25, 2008

　　How time flies! A week has passed before I noticed it. Thinking back at the things that happened during last week, I found the life here full of happiness and interests.

　　I can still remember the first day of the summer camp. I came to my bedchamber by myself. When I opened the door, I saw a girl with short hair sitting in a chair with a book in her hand. She must be a quiet girl who liked reading, I thought to myself at the time. As soon as we said hello to each other, another girl came in with a big noise. Her name was Rose. She was so outgoing and humor that both Cherry and I wouldn’t help laughing immediately. Then we studied and had meals together, and became good friends.

　　I can’t forget the day we spent together, I will remember these pressure seconds forever no matter how far we will be part in the future.

　　24th July Sunday Sunny

　　Today is an exciting day. In the morning we had the singing contest. Everyone did well in it. Somebody sans lyrics and somebody didn’t. When the result came out, only Audrey and Ellison could be in the second run. Vanessa was very sad. But finally she was in the second run. It was really great news for her.

　　We stayed in our rooms for the whole afternoon. We played cards, slept, read, practiced some English songs for the contest and did out homework. It was a little boring.

　　In the evening, we had the final singing contest. It was really great. At last, Vanessa got the second prize. Congratulations to her! All of us were proud of her. Edle gave her a bunch of flowers! Then we returned to our rooms.

　　It was really a good day today!

　　July 24th, 2008 Sunday Sunny

　　Today was a day for music, because we had the preliminary contest in the morning and we would have the final contest in the evening.

　　After the preliminary contest, we thought that only one program could go on next at first. It mad Vanessa sad. This result gave us a big surprise. At last, we knew that she got the first place of girl’s vocal music. Why she couldn’t pass at first was because she didn’t use the match music. Just like a joke! However, we all thought that she sang well all the time no matter whether she could pass or not.

　　In the evening, Vanessa, Ellison and I took part in the music contest. Vanessa sang almost perfectly and she go the second prize and last. I don’t think Ellison and I sang well. Ellison forgot the words of the song and my voice was a little dumb. Maybe Ellison felt a little nervous and I didn’t feel very natural on the stage. We haven’t got any prize. It was a little pitiful. Besides, my mother and uncle came to see me last night, so they could hear the song I sang by chance. I thought I should take part in activities more and be on the stage more.

　　After the music concert, my mother, my uncle and I talked a lot in my room. I felt happy to see them and talk with them.

　　Monday July 18th 2008

　　Today is the first day of the summer camp. The weather is not very good. It rained some time.

　　I got up very early this morning and walked in Zhejiang University. How large and beautiful Zijingang campus is! After breakfast, we went to take part in the opening of the summer camp. A lot of teachers and schoolmates were there. My best friend Daisy gave a speech. It was successful. After it, our foreign teacher came and we had classes. We introduced ourselves. Our teacher spoke quickly, so I couldn’t understand her at all.

　　In the afternoon, Professor Hu came to teach us English. I thought the class is very boring and also the text is too easy for me. And I found I didn’t have enough new words. I think soon I’ll adapt this.

　　This evening, we had class meeting and then I went back to my dorm room. I had a bath and then went to bed.

　　The first day passed quickly. I hope I can learn more knowledge here.

　　Tuesday July 19th 2008

　　Today is the second day of the summer camp. The weather wasn’t very good. It rained some time.

　　This morning I got up at five o’clock. And then we went to the playground. We did some jogging, Professor Hu changed his way of teaching, and I think he will become better. I could understand most of what he said. I think I’ll soon adapt it. And I hope we can be more active.

　　In the afternoon, our foreign teacher Stephnie talked about music to us. It was the group. From England called the Beatles. I don’t like the Beatles. I don’t like their songs at all. Then we played games. That’s too easy. I think those two games must be played by young children, not us.

　　Also, the singing race is coming. I think Daisy is a very good singer. She can sing well. So I think if she takes part in this race, she can get good result so I recommend her.

　　Wednesday July 20th 2008

　　Today is Wednesday. It’s the third day of the summer camp. The weather isn’t very good. It reined all the time, and the wind blowed strongly. So I don’t feel happy. And the umbrella is too small for two persons my sister and me water always fell down into my shoes, so my feet got wet. It’s uncomfortable. I think it was really a bad day.

　　Today, we saw two films, but we only saw half of them. Lion King is very interesting. Tomorrow we will finish watching that. I hope this will get a good ending. Also our Chinese teacher changed a lot. I started to listen to his lessons.

　　This evening, we three taught Cathy about the language in my hometown. We said a word and then she guessed. She is really very clever. She can understand most of me said, and Mr.Zhang told us something about the ways to study English. I don’t agree with him. I think everyone has his (her) own best way to study English, right?

　　I hope tomorrow it will be sunny and we can travel around Zhejiang University, I hope so.
