RIO DE JANEIRO, Sept. 10 -- Santos beat Cruzeiro 1-0 at home in the 23rd round of the 2011 Brazilian Championship Saturday, jumping to the 12th place from 17th over the past three weeks.

The game's only goal came from Borges who tapped in an excellent pass from Edu Dracena in the 12th minute. The goal marked his 16th of the competition, distancing himself as the league's leading scorer.

Cruzeiro will play at home against America-MG on Sept. 18 while Santos will travel to face rival Corinthians on the same day.
